Introducing Our New Head of Purchasing
Congratulations on your promotion, Justin!
We’d like to congratulate Justin Federman on his promotion to the Head of Purchasing for Lavish Roots! Justin has proved to be an extreme asset to the purchasing department and a pivotal part of our operation no matter the challenge, so it is only natural that he take this next step in his career with Lavish!
A Message from Justin: I started with Lavish Roots back when they opened their first café in October 2016 called Megabyte, or better known now as Origin. My starting position was DMO, and during my interview I had expressed my aspirations of moving up within the company; I knew starting from the bottom was the best chance for me to prove myself and future growth. After around 6 months of being a dishwasher and helping with food prep, I got promoted to receiver. Not too long after becoming receiver I had learned that the purchaser at the time was leaving, so I took that opportunity to learn the ins and outs of purchasing in this system before he left. Long story short, the purchaser that replaced him was not up for the job, and that is how I swooped in to become a part of the purchasing team. Now almost six years later I am still here and still trying to keep growing within the company with the never-ending changes that come.

Carrie Duncan has been with Lavish Roots as the Head of the Purchasing Department since 2019. In that time she's helped us navigate through all kinds of hurdles with suppliers, a pandemic, supply chain issues and an ever changing menu! She has decided to take some time for herself and will be leaving Lavish at the end of next week and will deeply missed. Please thank Carrie for her dedication and for the compassion she has shown her growing team. We owe much of our success to her efforts!
