Dear Lavish Roots Team,
As we reflect on the milestones and successes of 2023, it's a moment of great pride to acknowledge the remarkable journey we've undertaken together. This year has been a testament to our collective resilience, innovation, and commitment to excellence.
A Year of Growth
In January 2023, we set out with 357 team members, and today, we stand strong with 397 team members—an increase of over 11% year-over-year. Our “org chart” is now an impressive 94% filled, showcasing the depth of talent within our ranks.
The unveiling of Building X in Redmond was a monumental achievement, and the Meta brass lauded it as the smoothest and most well-run cafe opening in recent memory. Despite the challenges of cafe closures and reopenings, our team showcased unparalleled adaptability.
Promotions were at the forefront, with 78 team members (20% of our workforce) earning well-deserved advancements. We embraced change with the addition of new chefs from outside the organization, contributing fresh perspectives to our well-established culture.
Investments in operations and team member resource teams proved to be strategic wins, allowing us to add valuable positions and fortify our foundation for the future. As we bid adieu to the era of "temp workers," our org charts now boast the stability essential for sustained success.
Training Evolution
Our commitment to our team member development manifested through significant enhancements in our training programs. Alterations in the New Team Member Orientation and the debut of Lavish Leaders Orientation training marked pivotal moments in our journey. Looking ahead to 2024, expect these programs to evolve further to meet the ever-changing needs of our dynamic team.
Numbers to Look At
Waste Reduction:
The Reality Labs Teams (Redmond and SODO) achieved the waste target in 85% of all weeks and were at 100% of the goal by month-end.
Learn Courses:
Over 1,500 courses completed! Thanks for the reminders, Joel!
Meals Served:
We will have served over 1.8 million meals in 2023! For reference, we served 1.4 million meals last year!
Hours Worked:
Our entire team combined worked a staggering 723,811.59 hours!
Pre-Shift Papers Signed:
Over 800 pre-shift papers signed!
Looking Ahead to 2024
As we step into 2024, our focus remains resolute on continued growth and sustainability. We are excited to announce plans to add at least two more roles to the TMR team, fortifying our capabilities. Our longevity and sustainability as an organization will be a key theme, guiding our path in the ever-evolving world of food and hospitality. Expect a robust investment in training manuals and programs, covering everything from hands-on new-hire training to in-depth manager development.
Together, let's build on the foundation of success laid in 2023 and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. Your dedication is the driving force behind our achievements, and we look forward to reaching new heights together.
