Regence Health Plan Updates
Reminder about the changes in our health plan coverage and operations now that the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency and National Emergency are set to expire, resulting in certain benefit mandates being rescinded.
When a plan is amended, ERISA requires that notice of the change be provided to plan participants. As the Public Health Emergency and National Emergency (PHE and NE) are coming to an end, certain benefit mandates related to COVID-19 items and services (tests, vaccines, etc.) and certain extensions of plan deadlines will end.
Please note that, there is still uncertainty regarding the precise end-date of the deadline extensions granted for actions such as COBRA enrollment and payment, claim and claim appeal filing, and HIPAA special enrollments. Our notice incorporates the June 10th “outbreak period” end-date that is reflected in formal, published federal guidance. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Regence.
